Aam Aadmi Party fielded senior Supreme lawyer Advocate Harwinder Singh Phoolka from Ludhiana.
The seat was held by senior congress leader and minister Manish Tiwari, who declined to contest Lok Sabha elections by citing health reasons.
The Congress party fielded Ranvneet Bittu, grandson of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh. Ranveer Bittu was sitting MP from Anandpur Sahib constituency and he was also declared party candidate from that seat. But he was later shifted to Ludhaiana.
